The Mokoro group of companies was founded in 2013 and through its finance company, Bridge Taxi Finance, is a supplier of developmental credit to the minibus taxi industry. The group further imports vehicles from international suppliers in support of it end user financing activities, and also provide repair and refurbishing to its fleet of vehicles. Purpose of the role

To assume responsibility for:

1. Financial administration, accounting & controls

2. Operational compliance & administration

3. General administration & tasks


1. Financial administration, accounting & controls

  • Responsible for financial record keeping and administration
  • Maintain bank accounts & reconciliations
  • Maintain suppliers, purchases & reconciliations
  • Maintain loan debtors, collections & reconciliations between General Ledger and detail AR ledger
  • Maintain supporting documents for all entries in books of account
  • Prepare journal entries & post – ongoing and period end
  • Any other duties within the role as may be required from time to time
  • Prepare monthly trial balances & financial reports, budgets and financial statements
  • Financial administration of drawdowns from funders with related pay-outs and reconciliations.
  • Management and administration of payments from the various bank accounts
  • Daily cash flow reporting
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register

2. Operational compliance & administration

  • Assist with the compliance requirements as set out by the relevant acts governing the company (includes the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, VAT Act, the National Credit Act)
  • Preparation of tax submissions – VAT, Income tax, Employees Tax, Provisional tax etc.
  • Maintain and enforce accounting & financial internal controls
  • Preparation of audit files for the annual statutory audits.
  • Any other duties within the role as may be required from time to time

3. General administration & tasks

  • Ensure that supporting documents are stored according to company governance policies


  • Qualified CA (SA)
  • 3+ years’ accounting experience
  • Highly proficient in Caseware Software
